Taking advantage of all the opportunities of analyticsWhat is the best way to deal with the requirements for analytics within our S/4HANA transformation? How can we ascertain the optimal scope for analytics? How should we embed analytics organizationally within our program landscape? Which methodology is the right one to use? These are just some of the questions that you may be currently facing as part of your S/4HANA transformation. Our white paper provides the answers. |
S/4HANA transformations can be an immense endeavour for companies. ERP rollout programs are generally very expensive, resource-intensive and require a fundamental rethinking of analytics processes and structures. The danger is that when developing business cases and scoping programs as part of their transitions, many companies neglect the topic of analytics or limit it to ensure a minimal budget level. The resulting risks are obvious if individual departments’ needs for analytics are not sufficiently taken into consideration as part of the S4/HANA transformation. The most obvious risk is that after S4/HANA goes live, the relevant information for managing the company is difficult to access or is even completely absent. In addition, companies are often inconsistent in how they set the foundations for their future analytics capabilities. This results in efforts subsequent to the changeover to S/4HANA being even more intensive. In such cases, users get to enjoy the anticipated added value of having a modernized analytics architecture but this only occurs later than is required. Ultimately, users often quantify the success of S/4HANA transformations based on how the following factors benefit their day-to-day work: information being more easily and frequently available, more details, and predictions being provided instead of after-the-fact responses. If the stakeholders’ expectations are disappointed, there is an acute risk that the S/4HANA transformation will be perceived as a failure. |
~10% of S/4HANA budgets should ideally be used for implementing requirements relating to analytics so that the needs of stakeholders are sufficiently accommodated. 72% of companies believe that it is important to establish a data-driven culture. This means that the right foundations have to be set during S/4HANA transformations. |
In our white paper you will find out how S/4HANA Embedded Analytics fundamentally alters operational reporting, why a holistic analytics approach is worthwhile for transformations and why analytics should be properly embedded within S/4HANA programs from the outset.
